EMERGENCY MEDICAL SUPPLIES

PREPARING FOR MEDICAL SITUATIONS IS PROBABLY THE MOST NEGLECTED AREA OF EMERGENCY PREPARATION

HOW READY ARE YOU?

An often neglected aspect of emergency preparedness is considering the medical needs of such situations. A simple first aid kit is usually all anyone ever has, yet true emergencies require something far more adequate. This is not a pleasant subject to talk about because most people do not want to consider what it would be like to be in such a situation. You might be surprised at how many people find themselves in a similar position at least once in their lives.

This site is devoted to helping people prepare for the coming disasters prophesied in Scripture. Just about everyone will need to help someone who has a traumatic medical need or be in need themselves. When we are talking about earthquakes, tsunamis, massive wildfires, erupting volcanoes, riots, shooting in the streets, and all-out civil war, we need to be prepared for those things from a medical point of view.

I'm going to state right from the beginning that I am not an expert in this area. I have received training as a scoutmaster numerous times in basic first aid. I have several friends in the medical field who would be better to consult with regarding how best to handle such emergencies. I have created this page from some of the recommendations people have given me regarding products I can recommend to others.

I will also state that there needs to be a significant amount of training ahead of time to use these materials and supplies. This equipment can save lives when properly used by a doctor, surgeon, emergency room technician, or someone from search and rescue. When improperly used by someone without training well, the outcomes can be terrible. The guilt afterward can last for the rest of their lives. We don't want to do that.

We have talked about many things on this website regarding potential disasters and emergencies. I'm hoping that you will take the time to prepare yourself in every way, shape, and form required to get ready for what is coming. If you start preparing now by taking emergency medical training classes and spending 1-2 hours per week for the next few months, you may save a life. You may save your own life.

I know it's not fun to talk about, and it definitely requires some planning. Maybe even some money is shelled out for such information, but far too much time is wasted staring at the cell phone, the TV, or the video games. You have time to do this. I promise you you do. You just need the desire to do it. And the only way to get that desire is to recognize what is coming.

One of the most insightful and well-written books regarding a national disaster is "One Second After." It goes through the scenario of having an EMP (electromagnetic pulse) discharged over the United States, causing all electrical power to be lost over the entire country. It's a very graphic book that outlays in great detail the trials the people suffer for months and years afterward. I won't bother detailing all of the stories in the book, but I do recommend you read it. It's very believable and well written by someone who knows what he's talking about.

Many medical issues are outlined in that book. Part of it deals with the main character's daughter. She is a diabetic and now has no electricity to keep the medicine refrigerated. Many other stories need to be understood because they can happen to all of us.

I mentioned at the beginning of this that it is insufficient to have a simple first aid kit to depend on for emergency medical needs. I recommend you spend the most and get one of these outstanding alternative options to have in your home or vehicle. Obviously, you hope you never have to use it, but you will be grateful beyond measure if you ever have to use it. That $30-$400 spent now will be worth its weight in gold if you save someone's life. You will thank the heavens that you planned ahead to get something of this caliber.

I pray that you will seriously consider having one of these in your supplies.

Emergency Medical Training Class, June 22, 2022

Our first emergency medical training class was held on June 22 and our instructor was Kelly Freeman. He held our attention for 90 minutes going over all sorts of details that could arise in an emergency. 19 people were in attendance and every one of them learned a great deal about how to be better prepared for such an event. Here are a photo of the class and its attendees.

He handed out several flyers that had photographs of different medical events. He also gave us a whole list of things that we should have in our possession to be prepared. Below, you will see that list with a link to Amazon to purchase the various items, if desired. You will also see below them a couple of packages that are already available if you don't want to order them one by one.

As we learned in the class, this is an incredibly important area of preparation that we need to get ready for. Hopefully, we will never have to use it, but if we don't have it, we will certainly wish we had!
